Steel Construction Project

Nestled in the vibrant district of Alsancak, the İzmir Atatürk Volleyball Hall represents a fusion of a long sporting legacy and structural innovation. Originally serving as an indoor sports hall for basketball, volleyball, and handball competitions over four decades, it underwent a transformative rebuilding process to emerge as the city’s premier volleyball venue, boasting a robust capacity of 5,500 spectators.

Recognizing the rigorous demands placed on sports facilities operating for long hours which results in wearing off of the surface materials, our approach prioritized constructing a high-quality building with easily maintainable finishes. The structural design incorporated large spans achieved through steel space frame, eliminating the need for additional internal support. This engineering feat not only ensured structural integrity but also provided a versatile interior conducive to various arrangement options which is a crucial consideration for its typology.

The construction of İzmir Atatürk Volleyball Hall was guided by principles aimed at user comfort, adaptability, aesthetics, cost-effectiveness, and safety. The result is a dynamic space that not only caters to the specific needs of volleyball but allows for the seamless practice of different disciplines within the same facility. İzmir Atatürk Volleyball Hall stands as a beacon of engineering excellence, offering a harmonious blend of functionality and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of volleyball enthusiasts and the community at large.
