Pre-engineered Steel Structure

The establishment of Japan’s Self-Defense Force (SDF) base adjoining Djibouti-Ambouli International Airport marks a critical milestone in enhancing Japan’s global defense capabilities. This comprehensive facility incorporates administrative sections, barracks, and a strategically vital hangar designed to house combat aircraft as well as maritime patrol aircraft.

Our firm played a pivotal role in this prestigious project, delivering the design and static projects for the advanced hangar accommodating F-16 and F-35s, crucially positioned in Djibouti and dedicated to the Japanese army. Acknowledging the significant investment and maintenance demands associated with warplanes, our structural design addressed the intricate infrastructure needs of these high-value assets.

With a focus on safety, durability, and functionality, the engineering and superstructure works included the preparation of meticulous structural analysis reports. Leveraging pre-engineered heavy steel structures, we ensured the hangar possessed the strength, longevity, and customization capabilities necessary for accommodating and maintaining costly warplanes. The design encompassed major structural components like frames, bracings, and gables, as well as secondary elements, all meticulously detailed in technical drawings. The result is a cutting-edge aircraft hangar that not only prioritizes the security of valuable military assets but also contributes significantly to Japan’s strategic initiatives, particularly in anti-piracy activities in the Djibouti region.
