Limak Aviation Hangar Facility
Established in 2006, Limak Aviation has become synonymous with luxury air travel, operating flights to both national and international destinations with its three-jet engine, 14-seater Falcon 7X aircraft, which is the most advanced private jet in the industry. In a strategic collaboration, Limak entrusted us with the design of an aircraft maintenance hangar situated in Istanbul Grand Airport (IGA). This project required comprehensive architectural detailing, encompassing interior, exterior, and façade components, as well as engineering solutions for both reinforced concrete and steel structures. In addition to the hangar, the facility includes a lobby, reception area, meeting room, VIP office, VIP lounge, VIP relax room, and the chief pilot’s room.
The challenge inherent in aircraft hangars lies in their need for large spans and significant space, making the general structure complex and economically challenging. Our firm excelled in overcoming these challenges, delivering innovative solutions that not only met but exceeded industry standards. The security parameters, crucial for such a facility, were meticulously addressed at the design stage, aligning with the highest security levels to ensure the hangar’s longevity and durability.
Our scope of work extended to providing detailed reports for static calculations, shop drawings, intricate steel connections, BIM modeling, and seamless coordination with MEP systems. The result is a cutting-edge aircraft maintenance hangar that not only meets but sets benchmarks for security, economic efficiency, and structural integrity. Commissioned by Limak Aviation, this project showcases our commitment to excellence in aviation infrastructure design and engineering.
