Pedestrian Bridge Project

The Rize Pedestrian Overpass stands as a remarkable feat, recognized as Turkey’s longest and one of the world’s most intriguing pedestrian bridges. Nestled in the heart of Rize’s city center, this overpass structure seamlessly links five streets, enhancing the lives of the local community. PROBE takes pride in contributing to this iconic project, having carefully crafted the structural design and static projects, alongside delivering comprehensive shop drawings and architectural detailing for elements such as railings.

Spanning 500 meters in length and 2 meters in width, the pedestrian overpass boasts three intersections, providing key entry points from Atatürk Street, Cumhuriyet Street, İsmail Kahraman Cultural Center, Rize Police Department Mobese Center, Menderes Boulevard, and Beach Park. What used to be a 15-minute walk from Atatürk Street to Sahil Park is now condensed to a mere two minutes, offering citizens a swift and efficient means of navigating the city.

Beyond its practicality, the overpass has significantly improved city life, reducing traffic-related pedestrian accidents to zero. Previously, an annual average of 4-5 lives were lost in traffic incidents, a tragic statistic now alleviated by the safety and convenience of the overpass. Purposefully designed for pedestrians and cyclists alike, this stair-free structure ensures easy access for disabled citizens, fostering a more inclusive and accessible urban environment.
